I seem to like this one better, because of the background and it was easier, for me, to find the water droplet in this one than the other one! Great shot though! :D

It's actually called a Kalanchoe, it's some sort of succulent sort of flowering shrubbery. I just thought the masses of flowers were so pretty!

nice colour and shape again, but you might want to get rid of the blown out red pixels around the white spot?

if you use lightroom, there's a built-in function for that stuff, really handy... or you can use photoshop and a decolour spot correction?

To be honest, I've never gotten the hang of lightroom, but I'm pretty ok with photoshop. I'll see if I can be bothered to have another go at it! lol

I'm not all that impressed with this latest session, but I figured it was worth sharing with people for the learning experience!

true, it's worth showing off new toys at least :)

i tried out lightroom for a while, but then went back to doing everything by hand on photoshop.

Yeah, I get the feeling that lightroom is just a simplified version of PS anyway - for those who are too lazy to do it in PS.

Beautiful shot. I need to learn about these extension tubes. Nver heard of them before.

Thank you :) Basically they are just metal tubes that have threads on them to attach to your lens and camera. You place them between the lens and camera, therefore increasing the distance between the glass and the sensor - this allows for longer/closer focussing.

You can attach them to a regular lens to create a macro effect.

You can get very cheap tubes that are just the tube, or you can get some more expensive brand name ones that have glass in them.

The set I bought was only about 20 bucks from ebay and they seem to work very effectively - it's just a matter of getting used to them!

Hope that helps!

Thank you for the insight on the tubes. It's a big help. They sound like an interesting thing to try. I'll need to look into getting some. Always up for learning something new. :peace:

And practice is fun! :D
I am still getting the hang of my macro lens but I am having a blast as I feel everything out.

After seeing your work and that of a few others I think I am going to have to jump on the water drop bandwagon.
I am getting much too envious ;)

Thank you :) And I know what you mean, I stayed away from waterdrops for a while but I figured I should give it a go, stretch myself to learn some new techniques!

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Yes, I have never attempted anything that takes the setup that waterdrops seem to need.
We will see what I can manage with limited resources.

Yes I understand, don't worry too much about your resources though, I mean, I've even been using a mini torch as my lighting for waterdrops! lol it's a matter of improvisation!

Good luck with it!
