Thank you very much! I'm so sorry for the late reply, I don't often check in here anymore, I am concentrating on my full portfolio at RedBubble these days!

I really like this picture. Could I use it as a backround element for my photoshop exercise if I say it is from you?

This is a lovely piece of semi-abstract macro work with some lovely monochrome toning. There's a real sense of depth that I am particularly fond of. Good stuff.

PS: Apologies if you get lots of messages from me on this deviation, dA keeps timing out on me.

Amazing...it's so deep and very delicate. Nicer in B/W to my opinion. Stunning gallery also!

lol I'm glad you like it, second time lucky, it came out better this time than when I first converted it - I added a very light gradient map as well, one that is slightly ivory kind of toned, just to take out the coldness of the black and white.

Glad it appealed to you!

I love the b&w one as it draws attention to the focus point which is EXACTLY right :D and to the sensual shape

Thank you very much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it :) And I agree that the focus is definitely clearer in this version, I like it for different reasons to the coloured one :)

just because i fav'd this one doesn't mean that i didn't like the colours... sorry to be a request monkey but can you try and make the coloured one with more darkness, like overlay this B/W over the top to darken it in the same places?

just a thought.

nice work, and it was obviously a nice bunch of roses :D

lol thank you very much. And I'll have an experiment with the coloured one just for you :) Though I have to say, I liked it because it was so light and airy. If I come up with something, I'll post it for you :) Thanks for the insights!

just insights mind you, not demands... sometimes i say so much about other peopls work, and don't do my own... back to my work then.

I still prefer the colored one but this one makes me look closer at the texture and appreciate the abstract shapes made by the flower.

The lack of color simplifies it further and the simple feeling goes great with the blurry softness. Beautiful!!!
